CALENDAR Coming up this summer we're proud to feature two rare public performances by John Holte's Radio Rhythm Orchestra, directed by Pete Leinonen, for you listening and dancing pleasure. The first will take place on Saturday, July 24 at Crockette Barn on Whidbey Island. http://www.crockettbarn.com/. Crockette Barn is a couple miles south of Coupeville overlooking the Keystone/Port Townsend ferry dock. directions are available on their web site. The performance is billed as the barn dance, and is part of the Concerts on the Cove series. There's a dance class (always recommended) at 7:00 PM, and we play from 7:30 to 10:00 PM. This event was a great success last year. They tell us we're the bast Swing Band they've ever had. We understand the historic Crockett Barn is a great destination too, so this should be a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a summer afternoon on "island time" and conclude with a great dance/concert in the evening. There is a small admission charge (I think it was $10 last year), still a great bargain. Those of you who have heard and danced to John Holte's various bands, beginning with the "New Deal Rhythm Band" in 1972, already know it's a date not to miss. Shortly after, the same ensemble will appear again on Thursday evening, August 5, from 7 to 9 PM at Freeway Park in Seattle as part of the "Dancing 'til Dusk" 4th season. This event is free and open to the public, and will also be preceeded by a free dance lesson at 6PM. http://www.danceforjoy.biz/dancetildusk10.html
As always, all our groups remain active on the private party circuit, with upcoming dates at the finest venues throughout the Pacific Northwest. Why not call us for your next party; we're surprisingly affordable.
