Armbruster's new book "Before Seattle Rocked a city and it's music" recently out on the prestigious University of Washington Press. Kurt will be on hand from 7 PM to sign your copies as music history continues to be made in a program featuring Pete Leinonen's Olde Seattle Rhythm Band (with guest appearance by Seattle Jazz Hall of Famer Ronny Pierce), followed by Overton Berry, and closing with Alice Stuart and the Formerlys. 7 PM 'til closing... The annual open house at The Ruins happens this year on Sunday, January 1st, 2012 from 11:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Saturday January 21, 2012 from 8:30 PM to 12 midnight is this year's date for the annual holiday dance that we play for Northwest Dance Network at The Swedish Cultural Center. The music is by John Holte's Radio Rhytrhm Orchestra. Always a Stunning Success, this dance held by Northwest Dance Network at The Swedish Cultural Center on Jan 21 is preceeded by a dance class and both are included in the price. Other News Some of Pete Leinonen's music and video is now appearing in Peter Sillen's wonderful new feature film about Seattle's Favorite Poet, the late Jesse Bernstein. Entitled "I Am Secretly An Important Man", from a line in a famous Bernstein poem, this beautiful film captures the dark beauty of 1980's Seattle. It's currently plying the festival circuit.
